About HERS of CA

Our Vision

At Helping Empower Reentry Services – we envision a world where all individuals impacted by incarceration, poverty, or systemic injustice have equitable access to housing, healthcare, healing, and hope. Our vision is rooted in the belief that every person deserves the opportunity to rebuild their life with dignity, support, and purpose.

We strive to break cycles of recidivism and instability by creating a compassionate, trauma-informed network of care—one that fosters empowerment, community reintegration, and long-term wellness for all.

Our Approach

We take a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to reentry and healing. We meet individuals where they are—emotionally, physically, and situationally—and walk alongside them as they rebuild their lives.  Our work is rooted in dignity, accountability, and the belief that healing is possible for everyone.

Our Accomplishments

Since opening in 2024, HERS has made a powerful impact across Monterey County by combining compassionate care with real-world results:

  • Over 180 individuals housed, helping them transition from instability to safe, supportive housing.

  • More than 500 residents served, providing case management, housing navigation, and holistic support services.

  • Purchased and opened The Miranda House, a men’s transitional housing program, expanding local capacity for reentry housing.

  • Delivered in-prison programming to over 300 currently incarcerated men, offering tools for emotional healing, personal growth, and successful reintegration.

These milestones reflect our deep commitment to breaking cycles of incarceration and empowering lasting change—one person at a time
