Our Tucker the Turtle Parenting Classes provide caregivers and parents of children ages 0-5, effective, trauma-informed tools to help them manage big emotions. Based on the beloved Tucker the Turtle story and model, these interactive classes teach calming strategies, emotional regulation, and positive parenting techniques in a supportive environment.
Ideal for parents of young children, especially those impacted by trauma or system involvement, this program fosters stronger parent-child relationships and builds essential skills for long-term emotional success.
Join us as we empower families to create safe, nurturing, and emotionally resilient homes—one turtle step at a time.
At HERS, we believe every young person deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated. Through our partnership with Cake4Kids, youth and young adults enrolled in our Enhanced Care Management and Housing Navigation programs can receive a free, personalized birthday cake—made just for them.
Whether it's your first cake or your favorite theme, each one is custom-baked by a caring volunteer and delivered to make your special day even brighter. Because at HERS, your journey matters—and so do you.
Help us spread joy—one cake at a time! If you love to bake and want to make birthdays extra special for youth in Monterey County (including those served by our programs), we’d love to have you join the effort.
By volunteering with Cake4Kids, you can bake and decorate personalized birthday cakes from your own kitchen and deliver them to youth in need of a little extra love on their special day.
