The Miranda House

Cristina Miranda

The Miranda House was created to honor the life and legacy of Cristina Miranda—a radiant soul, devoted mother, and fearless advocate for housing and community. Cristina was a woman whose heart overflowed with compassion, whose smile could light up even the darkest day, and whose life’s work changed the course of countless others.

Cristina shared a deep and powerful friendship with Brittany Lee, the Founder and CEO of HERS. She called Brittany her sunshine, always answering the phone with those sweet, glowing words: “Hi, my sunshine!” But the truth is, Cristina was the sunshine—bright, steady, and full of warmth. She brought light wherever she went, and her presence made people feel seen, valued, and loved.

As a single mother, Cristina knew the struggles of housing insecurity firsthand. Yet even in the face of her own challenges, she lived to serve others.  In every role she held within the community, her work was never just a job—it was a calling rooted in compassion and purpose. Through her efforts, countless families in Monterey County found safety, shelter, and the dignity they deserved.

The Miranda House stands as a tribute to Cristina’s vision: a place where men in transition can find stability, encouragement, and the chance to rebuild. Her spirit lives on in every key handed over, every door opened, and every life restored. She will never be forgotten.
